The Lion Club
Hoxton, London

Project Description
This housing-led regeneration project secured the long term viability of the Lion Club for Young People boxing school in Hackney. Working in partnership with the club, the tight, corner site has been fully redeveloped to include 19 new flats, the sale of which has funded brand new facilities for the Lion Club with the introduction of generous new basement level space.
Floor-to-ceiling glazing gives views from the street into the club. The polite appearance of the brick facades that match the neighbouring listed church is brightened with copper alloy shingles on the top floor and gold-toned metalwork, hinting at the vibrancy of the club and the area.
