A New Space for Fitzrovia Youth in Action

We are pleased to be working with Fitzrovia Youth in Action (FYA), one of London’s leading youth action charities. We met through The Fitzrovia Partnership in 2009 and have enjoyed collaborating with them over the years.

Our latest project with them is to help design and deliver a new working space for FYA. A generous basement space has been provided and funded by Derwent and is due to be transformed into an open plan activity space where the young people of Fitzrovia can come together and engage in activities beneficial to them and their learning together with kitchen area, storage and WCs. Through the Fitzrovia Partnership, we have teamed up with Paragon to deliver the project with our professional services pro bono. We had a really productive session with representatives of Fitzrovia Youth at our office where we discussed the interior design proposals and chose graphics and colours for their new space.

Chivonne Koranteng, who is leading the scheme for DMA, commented,

“It’s really good to be working with young people as a client and having that face-to-face contact with the people who will be using the space. It was great to see their reactions to our ‘subterranean garden’ proposals, inspired by their gardening, and they had lots of ideas themselves, including decorating the kitchen with graffiti.”
