We have just got planning approval for a small project for the Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust. One of the leading and largest youth music centres in the country, the Trust is housed in a Victorian School building in the ‘Shoe and Boot’ Conservation Area of Northampton. Our proposal improves and extends their office accommodation, adding another storey to an existing single-storey extension and re-working it to make it work better aesthetically with the existing building.
It’s great to be working with NMPAT, who inspire young people to get involved and excel by providing them with musical and artistic opportunities. Our connection with them is through our own Samantha Malitskie, Project Architect (and violinist!), who also took part in their 50th Anniversary Gala last weekend, a showcase of concerts by alumni members ranging from highly successful professional musicians to enthusiastic amateurs, to celebrate an organisation that changes lives.
