We are very proud to have been shortlisted for The Lord Mayor’s Dragon Awards. These prestigious awards celebrate businesses that are achieving excellence in social impact and we have been recognised for our efforts to increase diversity through our work placement programme in the ‘inclusive employment’ category.
This is an issue that we feel very strongly about and we have developed a structured work placement programme that offers 16 work placements every year. The week long placements involve analysing and resolving a client brief, designing buildings, choosing materials and creating a client report at the end of it, all done working on our ‘one big office table’ with the rest of our team. Already the programme has encouraged a number of school leavers to go onto university to study architecture. We particularly look to students who might not otherwise have access to our industry and work closely with dedicated Social Value creation organisations such as Class of Your Own, Heart of the City and Supply Chain School, that offer education and training programmes to support schools, colleges and universities as well as businesses.
The winners will be announced at the annual celebratory dinner on 25 September 2018 and click here for more information on the shortlist and the awards.
