FAB FEST 2017

For the second year running, DMA are excited to be participating in FAB FEST again, the international fabrication festival hosted by the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment and the Fabrication Laboratory at the University of Westminster. It’s a week-long celebration of design and making, featuring over 50 pavilions built by students of architecture from across the UK and around the world and the theme for this year’s edition is ‘Pop-up City’. We are mentoring one of these teams of students who are designing and building an innovative cardboard pavilion around the concept of “Together in Isolation” which reflects their feelings on current world events. The project culminates in the festival week with pavilion construction by day, and events each evening, including an exclusive screening in the Regent Street Cinema of a FAB Film. FAB FEST ends with a two-day party and exhibition open to the Public and live streamed on the Internet on the 8th & 9th of July, with music, food, festivities and prizes awarded for the winning teams.
