We’ve just had the last of our Virtual Design Academy sessions of the summer so we’ve made a short video to give an idea of how the experience has been for some of the young people who have taken part.
DMA’s Virtual Design Academy (VDA) came about because we were worried about the effects of young people not being able to get relevant experience during the pandemic. By utilising an online sharing platform to provide an open-learning experience that equips young people with highly relevant digital design skills, we are now able to offer our five day work experience programme to an even wider range of young people across the UK, so helping to address the skills shortage and lack of diversity in the profession. Having been created and entirely managed by the younger members of our team, it brings real benefits to our practice too, in training and recruitment. Hear about some of their experiences here.
