Project summary
Since 2010 we have acted as Technical Advisors to the Department for Education (DfE) on their Free Schools, Priority Schools and School Rebuilding 2021 programmes. Working with schools and their stakeholders to achieve their educational vision, we have helped open circa 50 new schools (primary, secondary, all-through, SEND), spanning the North-West, London & South-East and South-West. We use this experience and the DfE standards as a base level starting point for designing all education projects, as this allows us to rapidly develop realistic and viable options.
In our role, we undertake feasibility studies, advise on planning, design, procurement, compliance and construction for new builds as well as adaptations, often involving listed buildings. We also advise LocatED (the development arm of the DfE) and other organisations, including local authorities and Multi Academy Trusts (MATS), looking at the viability of sites, assessing the feasibility of new projects, helping develop their ERs and advising on teaching and learning requirements for new educational formats.
