Project summary
DMA have been involved with the Lillington and Longmoore Estate since 2008, along with a number of other large estates in Westminster. Designed in the 1960s by Darbourne & Darke, this architecturally significant mid-rise, high-density estate is a designated conservation area, with approx 850 homes in 14 blocks ranging from 2 to 8 storeys, with shops, pubs and cafes along the perimeter edges and generous communal gardens.
Over the years DMA have worked with the Council, residents and stakeholders on a range of projects to upgrade the estate. We provided full survey drawings of the estate and information to develop planning applications for the replacement of all windows and doors, as well as external repairs and internal refurbishment to upgrade the performance of the buildings. We also created two new fully accessible homes within the undercrofts on Vauxhall Road as well as developing new landscaping and improved security measures.
