Once again, DMA have enjoyed being part of the ‘Accelerate into University’ programme run by Open-City in partnership with UCL’s Bartlett School of Architecture and Make Architects. The programme is aimed at students in Year 12 at London state schools from non-traditional backgrounds (under-represented communities), who would benefit from mentoring and skills enhancement to support their ambitions to pursue a career in the built environment. This year, Lucy Jolie Dickson and Katy van Geffen mentored two students throughout their design projects, providing a series of one-to-one tutorials at the office over 3 months. The final exhibition took place at the Bartlett on the 7th and 8th of March. Over the last three years, 130 students have benefitted from the programme.
