Andrew de Silva (aka Das) is taking part in the AJ Specification Live event on Wednesday 18 October in London, to discuss what architects are specifying for retrofit projects. The event, at Wallacespace, starts at 6.30pm and will see Das, along with Eric Martin of Delvendahl Martin Architects and Jamie Coath of Purcell present their recent and exciting retrofit projects.

Das will discuss the retrofit of the J.P. Morgan Media Centre at Lord’s Cricket Ground, explaining the design thinking and what informed the choice in the specification and retrofit of this existing structure. Das will explain how, using DMA’s historic knowledge of the building and digital modelling and scanning techniques, they were able to increase the usable internal floor area by 15%. Das will also take part in a Q&A session and networking drinks at the event where interested parties can ask specific questions regarding the approach taken by DMA for this award-winning building.
