On Wednesday 25 October, Fiona Clark, Practice Director, and Jessica Moore, Practice Manager, will be presenting the business case for workplace apprenticeship programmes at an event jointly hosted by Westminster City Council and the Victoria Business Improvement District – Apprenticeship Legislation – What Businesses Need to Know. The programme will provide an overview of the new levy in apprenticeship legislation and explore what these changes mean for employers.

DMA is an advocate of apprenticeship programmes and working with young people to introduce them to the thriving benefits of the construction industry is a key factor in our social values.

Having joined DMA as an apprentice herself in 2013, Jessica has since completed a PA Executive Diploma, an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration, a CMI Level 5 Management and Leadership Diploma and a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Management from the University of Westminster. She has been able to learn and earn at the same time throughout the process and is now part of the management team, responsible for managing DMA’s Best Practice Management System.

Jessica commented: “Starting out as apprentice has given me opportunities and opened up a career path that might not otherwise have been an option.”

Fiona added; “It is essential the process remains simple and accessible to all, to allow more employers like us to offer apprenticeship programmes.”

The Apprenticeship Legislation event is taking place at the Park Plaza Victoria Hotel in London from 8.15am on Wednesday 25 October.
