The whole DMA team went to Liverpool last week to attend our quarterly team meeting. We opened a new studio there in March last year and, through local recruitment and some of our team moving from London, we now have a team of four people established in Liverpool. This meant it was a great opportunity for the rest of practice to visit the studio and take the opportunity to explore this fantastic city and some of its architecture.
We’re very much committed to replicating the approach that we have built up in London and this means contributing to the city as well as looking for interesting project opportunities. We are already involved in mentoring though the Social Mobility Foundation and the RIBA Ambassadors Scheme and we have also won a design competition for a fantastic new project for Claire House, the Liverpool-based children’s hospice. There’s a lot going on in Liverpool so it’s a very exciting time and place to be.
