We are extremely proud to be one of only six companies to have won a 2022 Lord Mayor’s Dragon Award. These prestigious awards celebrate businesses that are boosting opportunity and tackling inequality so it is a tremendous honour to have won the Inclusive Employment award for the second time, this time for an initiative that came about because we were worried about the effects of young people not being able to access our office-based work experience during the pandemic.
DMA’s Virtual Design Academy is an online 5-day open-learning programme that equips young people with highly relevant digital design skills. By combining an online sharing platform with office based experience, we have been able to reach a wider range of young people across the UK (with over 30 alumni so far), so helping to level the playing field and make the profession more inclusive. Everyone in the practice is involved in the initiative, but Jessica Hardy, Jenna El Musawi and Reihaneh Yaghoubi have played a key part in organising and mentoring the participants, so it’s great that they were able to pick up the award at yesterday evening’s ceremony.
Congratulations to all the other winners and shortlisted companies. For more information about the awards and the winners, see The Lord Mayor’s Dragon Awards.
