The J.P. Morgan Media Centre is featured in the latest edition of the AJ Specification Magazine as one of three projects shortlisted for the AJ Retrofit Awards and showcased for the skill and technique used in sensitively reworking a building in order to give it new life and a sustainable future. The AJ says
“At Lord’s Cricket Ground’s Stirling Prize-winning Media Centre, designed by Future Systems in 1999, David Miller Architects used 3D scanning technology to reveal spaces in the monocoque that could be freed up, squeezing 15 per cent more floorspace out of the structure in a subtle and efficient refresh.”
The project was highly commended in the AJ Retrofit Awards Leisure category. For more information about the project see here and for the full article in AJ Specification, see here.
