Working with Westminster’s Retrofit Taskforce

We’re delighted to be working alongside Westminster’s Retrofit Taskforce to pilot a new approach to upgrading their homes and make them more energy efficient. Many of these homes are in historic buildings and conservation areas, such as the Arts and Crafts Millbank Estate and the 1930s Grosvenor Estate by Edwin Lutyens, so the work involves safeguarding the architectural qualities of these amazing buildings whilst upgrading them in line with de-carbonisation targets. We have identified significant architectural details and are in the process of developing Heritage Partnership Agreements, which include specific construction methods and design details for each estate. These will provide a long term, coordinated strategy for retrofitting, helping Westminster City Council to achieve their plan to become a ‘retrofit-first’ city and reach their net zero target by 2040.
