Project summary

This project adapts a consented commercial scheme to create specialist lab space for our client, Kadans Science Partner. Designed as a multi-tenanted building, it includes a shared reception and a new public café at ground floor level. The lower floors also provide specialist space for small scale manufacturing and pilot plant use. Atriums and lightwells provide natural light to these areas and help to activate the street frontage.

The building is immediately adjacent to 18-20 Tileyard, another new specialist laboratory that we are designing for Kadans Science Partner. Situated at the corner of York Way, it acts as a gateway into the Tileyard Quarter, a newly emerging innovation district within the wider King’s Cross Knowledge Quarter.
